I’m currently in Medan and have completed my calf lipo surgery and fat transfer to forehead yesterday. Was too tired to update as I slept through after the surgery.
2nd time back to Medan (a year later), everything seem so familiar. My mum and I love the new airport! Compared to the old airport this is definitely so much better.
Yesterday there was a hour delay with our flight and I was panicking and worrying the driver might have left if he did not check flight or though that Im one of those playing prank. To my surprise he was there waiting at the pick up area. I was so glad to see him! The journey to the clinic took close to 2 hrs as there was a heavy traffic. The kind driver played madarin radio therefore the long jouney was pretty bearable.
Finally we arrived at the clinic. Place is still cosy as usual, apart from some new staff. There is one very nice nurse (dunno how to spell her name) who is still around from my last visit. To my surprise she still remembered us a year later.
The same routine, bath with dettol and take measurements, followed by consultation with Dr. Arthur. This time round for my calf I am exceptionally nervous about it. While waiting for doctor’s consultation, my heart suddenly just went racing without control. I was scared and worried about the pain level. I understand that calf is the most painful among all…the kind nurse was trying to calm me down and kept asking me to relax. My mum tried her best to relax me by showing me some videos of my cute nephew and that really help abit! Finally Doctor came in, we took some time to discuss about the procedure and Dr Arthur as usual patiently explained to me and my mum what is expected of the procedure.
Calf is one of the hardest part to do as it consists of muscles and nerves. As the doctor explained, patient need to be realistic of the result as many a time when big calf is a result of prominent muscles, the result may not be as slim as we hope to be.
THE process :
Pain. IT’S painful. I was already drowsy from the medicine and I thought that will be good such that I would not be able to feel much pain or best till fall asleep. But I was so so wrong. The pain was so bad that it woken me up totally from all drowsiness.I could only remember I kept on shouting pain and it was bad.. I can’t even recall how the doctor managed to calm me down.
I did not take note how long the whole process took, I only knew Dr Arthur extracted around 800ml from my calf. That is pretty much as compared to my arm which was 700ml. The after result is a much slimmer calf and I could see my muscle 😦 (I have to be realistic and accept this).
The transfer to forehead was pretty bearable though still able to feel some pain here and there. It makes my forehead rounder yet still natural. I like the result of the fat transfer to forehead and hoping that my fats will survive. A thing to note for fat transfer, due to the nature of the fats and stability, not 100% of fats will survived. Anything that stayed after the 3 to 6 months mark will be consider yours to keep.
I will be returning back to Sing tomorrow, and will be tidying my pixs for sharing very soon!
